For anyone who doesn’t already know the Stage 5 crew is experiencing some health issues. Bob Dorman and Art Charlet are both dealing with health related concerns. Send them some good mojo, prayers, healing vibes or whatever your thing is .. they both are handling this well and are in great spirits and are looking forward to Winfield in September (but will be taking things a lot easier). So you might see some new and old faces at this years festival helping out around the stage. See you all soon … and be sure to tell those that you love .. that you love them. 🙂

Down in west campground is where we will gather.  Hope to see you there.  Bring your camper, guitar, and let’s have some fun!! Really needing to get outside and soak up some sunshine and the forecast is looking positive for the coming weekend … let’s do it … halfway!!!

It seems like every time I get the snow cleared this year there is more the next morning .. or at least in a couple of days.  But as the snows finally subside and Mother Nature ushers in nicer weather, then we finally pick up some longer days of sunlight and outdoor picking season gets into full swing.  This year I am SO ready to sit on my porch or head to the lake and enjoy evenings with friends picking out some tunes or figuring out that new lick.  There are a few events that are quickly approaching that help to signal that return to nicer days … first the Kansas Bluegrass Association is hosting their Winter Bluegrass Festival at the Wichita Marriott in east Wichita [you can check out their website for all the details and a great lineup].  Then, there are two half way to Winfield parties one in the Kansas City area and a camping event in the west campground at the Cowley County Fairgrounds in Winfield.  I can’t wait to get back out there in under the trees, play some tunes and remember how cold it was this winter.  We hope to see you out there this spring.          Stay warm.

It is almost over for this year … except for packing up and going home … a little dose of reality.  It’s a little sad every year on Saturday night (Sunday Morning) when you know that the festival is about over for this year.  So I for one would like to extend a huge great big THANK YOU to the city of Winfield, Kansas and to the Walnut Valley Association for hosting such an extraordinary festival.  This city and these fairgrounds are so special to so many musicians and lovers of music.  We converge here every year to celebrate life and to sing a few songs .. to spend a little time with friends and with family .. and hopefully leave some good vibrations on this spot in Cowley County .. in Kansas .. in a little city call Winfield.

It’s Saturday in the Pecan Grove and there is tons happening here today .. all over the festival grounds .. but the Stage 5 line up for tonight is stellar .. don’t miss a single minute.  Today is a celebration of acoustic music from around the world and there is no better place to celebrate that in Winfield, Kansas at the Walnut Valley Festival.
