At Stage 5 we have been collecting strings for many years. Originally we collected strings for the 2nd String Project who provided acoustic instrument strings to 3rd world or impoverished areas of our planet. When the 2nd String Project went away we partnered with Terracycle, D’Addario Strings & Martin Guitars in the “Play Back” string recycling program to recycle strings and keep them out of the landfills. This has been a very good program as we have lots of folks saving their strings all year long and bring to Winfield to help fill the box. We send them in by the pound to be recycled through Terracycle. Little bits add up.
